Do you suffer from RSS?

You might not know it, but you may be suffering from RSS.  I certainly do!

What is RSS, you ask?  It's known as Repeat Story Syndrome! 

Have you ever been at a party when someone comes along, a good friend even, and they start in on a great story...ONLY, they've told this story at a previous party.  This is RSS.  The predicament is, do you interrupt and tell the story teller that you've already heard it?  I say, you politely interrupt, especially if it happens to be a good friend.  I've been the victim of RSS many times and I appreciate it when a buddy says, "hey man, you told me that already."  After all, a good story teller should have a few more in their back pocket!

I run into this with my wife...and it infuriates her to no end when I tell her she is suffering from RSS.  But, why, I ask?  Why should I have to listen to the same story twice?   She actually thinks that I am being rude!

I guess if it's a really, really great story (and many are), it might be well worth a second listen...but if not, just know that RSS can strike at any moment and does not discriminate!
