Adding letters

We have all heard people drop the "g" from words ... thinkin, goin, eatin and so on. I guess I kinda understand how that happens.

What I don't understand at all is adding a letter, like when idea becomes idear, soda becomes sodar, Tina becomes Tinar. Do grade schools in Long Island and Boston teach kids to speak that way?
